CHEAP Breyers Ice Cream

Hat tip to imommies for this awesome deal…

Go here to print your $2 off coupon for Breyers Ice Cream at Food Lion. We don’t have a Food Lion but I know my sister, who has a deep seeded love for ice cream, has a Food Lion about a mile down the road from her house.

So, Carrie, make sure you go here and get your $2 off coupon, take it to your Food Lion store (which is also having a $2.60 sale on Breyers ice cream) and get your favorite flavor for $0.60.
It says you can only print the coupon off once so make sure you put how many you want to print in your print que. You can only use one per visit, too.
My favorite is Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip. Now I am going to have to go pick some up. Good thing today is Ben’s 3rd birthday! I will have an excuse to buy some YUMMY ice cream!
Coupon expires on 1/29/2008

Barnes & Noble SUPER SALE Reminder

This week I took advantage of their ginormous after Christmas warehouse sale and purchased 44 books from Barnes & Noble for only $160 and free shipping (over $25). I kept myself in the $5 and under section and found a great many treasures!
I am not suggesting that everybody should spend this kind of money on books, however, January is the month we typically buy our kids new curriculum and books are definetely on that list. I just can’t believe the number and quality I got!
I am not talking about paperbacks either. I was able to purchase most of them in hardcover for as much as 90% off Barnes & Noble’s retail price!
I was especially excited about their Classic Series for Kaitlyn and me, and Discovery Series for the boys! I also got a large number of nice books for myself and a few for my husband.
The After Christmas Sale is over on February 4th so you should probably run right over and pick up some of your favorite books!

Good deals I found this week!

Go here to get your free sample of Dunkin Donuts ‘Dunkin At Home’ coffee. It is easy and quick! Just make sure you use your junk email account so you don’t get flooded with unwanted spam.

HoMedics Mini Massagers are cute and feel great on your neck!
These little motorized massagers are usually around $10 to $15 but are on sale right now at
Best Buy for $0.99. You can order one online and pick it up in-store to save on shipping or you can buy online and pay the $3.99 shipping cost. Both ways it is a good deal!

Toys R Us
has this little Fisher-Price play gym on sale for $6 (down from $24.99). It is so cute!
They don’t have anymore available online right now but if you have a local Toys R Us it might be worth a shot to call and see if they have any left. This is a terrific deal if you are having a little one or have a baby gift to buy soon!

Sammy Crawling

Sammy-do is still sick. He did pretty good yesterday for a little while. He ended up getting sick again though.

He has been a REALLY happy baby since he was born and now, even though he isn’t as smiley, he still looks like a happy baby to everybody. The doctor said today ‘he just looks so happy for being sick’, and he was right, but Sammy is usually a very bright smiler and the last few days he has just been a regular smiler.

Anyway, I took some video of him crawling while he was feeling good.

Okay, so this isn’t a video of Sam crawling because he doesn’t crawl – not at all! Every time I put him on his belly he smiles sleepily and lays his head down. He will look up at me when I talk to him but then he smiles and puts his head down again – he has been doing this for a month now. It is completely adorable but now that he is 8 months old I think it would be fun to watch him crawl. He will probably be one of those babies who skips crawling and goes straight to walking.
He sat up late but when he did start sitting up he did it all the way. He wasn’t ever a jello-like sitter. He went from not sitting up at all one day to sitting up like he was 2 the next. I am wondering if he will do the same thing with the whole crawling thing.
Either way he is just way too cute.

Neat Science Curriculum!

I have stumbled across this awesome set of Science curriculum today! This Christian curriculum takes the Charlotte Mason approach and is designed to help fortify kid’s faith while arming them with the Creation Science truth!

Many Christians, like myself many years ago, know what we believe, but not why we believe it. I know that there have been many times where I didn’t have the information to argue my beliefs. How can I expect anybody to take me seriously like that? For years now I have studied up on my strongest beliefs and convictions and I have tried to help my children do the same. I want to send my kids out into the world knowing why they think the way they do. Not only will this help reaffirm truth, but it will also help them keep their wits about them when faced with opposition. They won’t be deceived into believing a lie when they understand the truth in and out.
So, when I ran across this curriculum at an online Christian bookstore I was excited! I will be purchasing many of these books this month. Below is a run-down of one of the Zoology books, Exploring Creation with Zoology 1: Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day. It has great reviews and I am very excited about it! Plus, with many grades actually schooling in my house I love it when I find curriculum that is encourages multi-level participation and instruction!

The ruby-throated hummingbird, yellow-rumped warbler, little brown bat, spicebush swallowtail butterfly, Mexican bean beetle, common honeybee—they all have wings, and you’ll find them here in this lavishly illustrated elementary science curriculum. Using the Charlotte Mason approach, 14 lessons include notebook activities, special projects, and hands-on experiments to teach kids about birds, bugs, bees, beetles, butterflies, and more. 240 pages, hardcover.
Here is another book from that series. Both look terrific and have really good reviews!

CashCrate Update

As you guys can probably see by my Cash Crate button, I have slowed at doing surveys and such. The reason I stalled is because I wanted to be sure it was the real deal before I spent any more time on it.
Well, my check for $38.84 (my Cash Crate earnings from December) came in the mail today! YEAH!!!

So, it does appear that, yes, Cash Crate does pay!

Tip: Remember to use a JUNK email address (Hotmail or Yahoo are free).
Tip 2: I guess after your email gets into so many survey databases you kind of stop getting your surveys approved. But, since Yahoo email addresses are free and easy to sign up for I just opened up a new one. I guess I may have to do this every month. We will see!

This Weeks Giveaway!!! Squeaker Sneakers!

Now, aren’t these cute?!? Squeaker Sneakers squeaky shoes are totally cool! They are unique, adorable, comfortable, easy to put on, squeak when baby walks, and just all around fun.

It gets better! Squeaker Sneakers is a Christian company that came into being when a woman, along with help from her mother and inspiration from her young daughter, decided to start up a business selling the same type of shoes that would encourage her little girl to walk, now known as Squeaker Sneakers. This company has been terrific to work with and the personal service is unlike any other company I have purchased from. I was and still am completely impressed with the Squeaker Sneakers company’s terrific customer service and business ethic.

More info:
Development – Squeaky shoes are very stimulating for the pre-walker and toddler. The squeaky feedback will not only make your little one smile but will motivate them with each step to keep walking. Visually impaired children will be stimulate and motivate to keep going when they are unsure of their surroundings, learning to trust those who are guiding them.
Parental annoyance guard – All you need to do to disable the squeakers in Squeaker Sneakers is use your fingernails to pull the squeakers out. When you are ready to use them again just put them back in the shoes. Make sure you set the squeakers out of reach of your child as they are small and may pose a choking hazard.
Safety – Do you have a little explorer who likes to wander off when you are out and about? Kid Squeakers are perfect for your little traveler! Always know where your toddler is by listening for the sound of his shoes. The moment he starts to wander you will know it!
Comfort – Unique and comfortable, Kid Squeakers are appropriate for your baby’s feet. With plenty of toe room, non-restricting ankles, flexible uppers and flat, soft soles, your child will not only love the squeakiness of his shoes, but the comfort, as well.

Specifics: The winner will choose from sizes 5 or 6 of the squeaky shoe pictured above (measurements below). These shoes are perfect for girls or boys!

  • Brand – Squeaker Sneakers
  • Retail price – $27.95
  • Materials – Leather with a flexible rubber sole
  • Size – 5 or 6 (winners choice)

Sammy Update #2

Sammy started getting sick again within an hour of my last update.
Poor little guy.
Dr. said to give it till Wednesday and told me to give him this anti-nausea medicine to help keep him from getting dehydrated because he is beginning to look a little dry. He is holding down less now but is still getting enough to keep him from getting overly dehydrated – hopefully the medicine will help him hold more down.

I am still praying it is just a flu type thing. The fact that he has no other symptoms is what bother me though. I have never seen a flu that caused intermittent vomiting with no other symptoms – well, until now. He isn’t too grumpy either, just a little overtired.

I am such the over-concerned parent. I just feel so bad for my baby.
