We have 7 kids (at least we will if this baby will ever be born!) and it comes time in our house every so often to do a quick check of our home’s child safety features. Do cabinets need locks? Are medicines out of reach? Are exposed outlets covered? This is something of a regular habit in our home now with Sam, at 20 months now, being Mr. Monkey. He is our first true climber and is into everything.

Anybody who knows me at all knows that I am more for house proofing my child than childproofing my house. However, there are certain childproofing ideas and gadgets that are just smart to have around. With a toddler in the house and a new baby to be born any day now it is a good time to reevaluate these things.
KidSafe Inc, the baby proofing and child safety experts, have a lot that can help with this. With just about every child safety product available from trusted companies like Safety 1st, KidCo, Evenflo, Gerber, and others; plus advice and information on their baby safety blog, you can be sure all your baby proofing and child safety questions will be answered.

While browsing KidSafe I noticed a plethora of baby safety devices that I didn’t even know existed! Not only that, but older safety devices have been made better and easier for adults to use while still providing excellent protection against our little one’s curiosities.

I strongly suggest that parents don’t use baby proofing devices as a replacement for good training; after all, we can’t go around baby proofing the entire world, but our little monkeys can be quick and when we have our guard down for whatever reason having a home where danger is minimal can and does save children’s lives. The piece of mind that comes from having a safe haven of a home can help us relax and enjoy our children that much more.
