We’ve found the trailer. It’s nice and big, will sleep up to 15 people – so we can still have people visit! It’s a bit much from what I had originally pictured in my mind when we first talked about living in a trailer. But that was 6 years ago and now we have a teenager.
A girl teenager.
Plus, she’s the only girl in a house full of boys (not counting me). We want her to have a space. Not for privacy’s sake, but out of respect for the woman she’s becoming.
So, she’ll get a loft. Not big enough to sit up in, but big enough to lay down and read – get away from the mania of so many little boys.
There aren’t a lot of trailers out there designed in a way that makes this possible. We found two and this one is the one we’ve decided to go with. We’ll be spending the next six months putting money away, searching for a used model (not likely) and getting rid of stuff.
We’ll actually be remodeling part of it to create triple bunks and there’s a washer/dryer option which we’ll be taking. Since we’re planning a life in this trailer – at least until debt is paid off, but possibly longer - we are striving to make this small house very homey with plenty of sleep space so nobody feels squished.
As of right now the plan is to move into this trailer next spring and I have a list of things accomplish that will make living in a trailer a little easier - space saving ideas, and changes we’ll be making to this thing when we get it, which is funny because unless we can find one used we’ll end up buying it brand new just to change it.
That’s okay, it’s gonna be so much fun!

We are going to visit some friends tomorrow and my kids are uber excited. So excited that many of them are cleaning like crazy because of it. It’s weird, but they are.
They all have little cloths and are wiping down door jams and knobs. Two of the littles were fussing with each other, saying things like, “No, I’m cleaning this door!”
The words that came out of my mouth were as foreign as Bhutan. It all happened in slow motion – like watching a train wreck and not being able to stop it.
“If you guys can’t share the work then you won’t be able to clean at all. Do you want that to happen?”
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

This giveaway is brought to you by My Blog Spark as a part of the Box Tops back to school offers!
We eat a lot around here and have managed to accumulate quite the big stash of Box Tops. While we homeschool our children, we still collect Box Tops for my sister’s kids. I love being able to send her a big baggy full every few months.
We enjoy many products that have box tops attached. Toaster Strudels with their yummy gooeyness and Totino’s Pizza Rolls top the list. We try to always stock up on these during sales or when we find really good coupons.

Most of the time when I shop I end up purchasing a large number of a few things – I’m a vigorous stockpiler. This is how stocking up works around here. When I find a good store sale and pair that with coupons, I’m able to stock up on much for a very low price. It really isn’t rocket science. My husband says it’s harder. He calls it homemaker calculus.
Did I mention that I like ice cream?
Today we paid Target a visit and bought 20 cartons of Edy’s ice cream for $10. Actually, I used gift cards from past deals so it didn’t cost me anything. Want a breakdown? Here ya go.
Edy’s ice cream – $2.50 each
get a $5 gift card when you buy 5
Get the $1 off 1 coupons available here. (you can print as many as you want)
Go to Target with all your coupons, pick out your yummy sweet frozen treats, visit your cashier and be patient. Most Target coupons won’t scan and they’ll have to punch each code in individually. They don’t have any problems doing this but it does take a couple of minutes.
Your total will be $7.50 and you’ll get a $5 gift card back. Do it again if you like and use your gift card to pay. You’ll only have to pay $2.50 out of pocket plus you’ll get another gift card! You can roll this deal over and over again as much as you please.
And there ya go! Really cheap ice cream.
You may have to purchase a second freezer. And you’ll definitely want to bring a spoon for the ride home.
