For the last week Sam has been very fussy. He wanted to be held ALL THE TIME. Since he had his vaccinations last week I was sure he was fussing because his leg hurt or something. He hadn’t slept well in at least 2 weeks.
I kept telling Ryan that I thought maybe he was having tummy aches or something. Ryan went with that for a few days and then decided while playing with him a couple of nights ago that Sam was just being a brat. You see, while Ryan played with Sam he smiled huge smiles but as soon as he saw me he would cry cry cry; and it wasn’t just a regular baby cry – this was an all out quivering cry – the kind that makes you think that surely his leg must be eating itself. Ryan said he was just spoiled on his mama. I can see how that could happen.
Anyway, last night Sam just seemed to be in a really good mood all of the sudden. I was playing with him and he was giggling and that is when I saw it. The smallest little piece of tooth had broken through Sam’s lower gums.
I playfully chided Ryan immediately for thinking my sweet little 4 month old could ever be considered a brat. He was just teething! My poor baby was in pain and I had no idea it was his mouth. In all 6 of my kids Sam is the first to get teeth before 7 months. It was the last thing on my mind in all those sleepless nights.

He slept well last night and has been in a great mood this morning. I am SO glad he is feeling better.
