One time I was shopping in the Publix cookie isle with a couple of my boys and a man in a name tag and apron came up to me and asked if he could show my kids the lobsters. I could see the lobster tank from where I was standing so I said okay. The employee proceeded to take out different lobsters and show them to my kids, pointing out different parts and answering questions and THIS is why I love Publix grocery stores, people. Not only is Publix one of the cleanest, most organized grocery stores I’ve ever been in, but their employees are mostly super friendly.
Publix is kicking off their Best Meals Happen at Home event today and it will run through February 1st and to celebrate they’re giving me a $25 gift card to give away to one lucky reader of We Are Culbertsons. Eating together is important for our family. One of the funniest moments around out table happened after mealtime. Guests were coming and my husband and I were pulling the table open to add another table leaf. It was then that we discovered a ledge under the table where one of the children had placed some vegetables they didn’t want to eat. By that time the veggies were all dried up!
Some of the funniest things that happen around the dinnertime involve our kids asking us questions. The other day my son asked, “What’s God’s last name?”. It made me giggle and I thought it was so cute.

we’ve had the dog snatch food off our plates, that’s always pretty funny (except for the perosn it happen to, lol)
The other day I was sitting at the table with my boys. I like to just ask them questions sometimes. So I asked if they thought that me and Josh made a good team as their parents. They said yes. Then I asked why. They said because we love eachother. Then I asked them how they knew that. They said, “Well. . . you have lots of kids . . .” It was funny. Then I asked them if all people that had lots of kids loved eachother. They were not so sure about that one. Funny times.

One night my family was eating dinner at Olive Garden. My son who was 5 at the time announced at the top of his lungs that McDonald’s had the best french fries. He received applause from everyone.
Oh, goodness… having 3 and 5 year old nephews there have been so many funny events around the dining room table. Funniest would be when one of them has done or said something hilarious but that they’re not really supposed to do or say. The adults are trying to maintain a straight face, trying to avoid eye contact so we don’t crack up laughing… yeah, we all lose it every time!

One time my niece was visiting and she got down on the floor and pretended to be a dog and begged for spaghetti. She thought she was hilarious. I think my dog thought she was nuts. Besides he didn’t want the competition!
One time at Thanksgiving our cat jumped on the kitchen counter and pulled the turkey on the floor…not funny at the time since we wanted leftovers, but we laugh about it every year now
