Every year on December 14th we buy a star from Name A Star Live, via Groupon, and we vote on what to name it.  The range of suggestions we get are pretty humorous and last night was no exception.  Here are a few suggestions my family came up with.

Magrathea
Christmas Star
Alpha 177
Culbertism
Sharkesha
Zaphod (which is funny because that’s what we named last year’s star)
Vogsphere
Fred
Family Star
Dipper
Death Star
Akbar

Are you seeing a little bit of a trend here?

Ultimately, Culbertism won and I’m not sure how because it sounds like a disease or a syndrome.  It won 7 to 5 over Sharkesha, which is also odd because our family is 11 and Maggie didn’t vote.  Not sure how we ended up with 12 votes.

Our first star was named Patrick, and if I remember correctly it was the only name that we’ve unanimously agreed upon.  But that really doesn’t matter.  It’s just plain simple fun and we all look forward to it every year.

So when you look up into the sky tonight just know that Culbertism is out there, shining down upon your face, lighting up the night. Hopefully it doesn’t give you a disorder or anything.
Maybe you should up your vitamin C intake or something just to be on the safe side.
