I made bread yesterday.  And today.  You may wonder why I torture myself with such unnecessary tasks when pre-sliced, packaged bread is available at the store for a mere $.89 per loaf, but I tell you it’s the only way to keep the house from smelling like sweaty boy. A smell that isn’t that much different than old sneakers that have been worn without socks, gotten wet, and left to dry in a sack of rotten potatoes then thrown into the hamper but missed and accidentally went behind the washer and we all wander around saying good golly what is that smell? until one day somebody says they think something might have died behind the washer and we look and find what appears to maybe have been a pair of old sneakers once but we aren’t sure so we just throw them away.

You try living with 6 boys and tell me that isn’t an accurate description of what they smell like after playing outside all day in the hot Florida sun. With dirt. And frogs.

I decided while making bread in an attempt to cheer up my sense of smell that I would try to make hot dog buns too. Normally when I do something like this I end up a little disappointed.  However, these little buns turned out to be the perfect combination of bread and wonderfulness and I had to put them in the fridge to get them out of my site because I was fully prepared to eat 10 hot dogs just to have my taste buds massaged by these delectable buns.  I’m going to make them again. Soon.
I was so impressed with my creation that I decided to try to make those really long skinny, crunchy bread sticks that are like 18 inches long or something close to that.  I made a couple different thicknesses so I could see which kind turned out the best.  Sheer breadstick perfectness, people.  They turned out so wonderful that I can’t even give myself credit for them.  I definitely had a bread stick angel in the kitchen with me.

And I’m now going to have to end this post abruptly because that’s all I got.
And I just noticed that there is a fly in my coffee.  Dang.
