In an attempt to just blog. About anything.

Matthew had his braces adjusted again today.
And so far that is pretty much all.

Oh, and I had purchased these new, cute little baby head bands for Maggie at this little consignment shop a few months ago, 2 for $1, but they weren’t priced so I had to ask what they cost. They had tons of them and in many colors so I went back in to buy more today and the lady charged me $1.99 for two so I said, Oh, I didn’t know the price had doubled, never mind, and she told me that they’d always been that price and then just gave me this look that said I want to pinch your head off for changing your mind.

They always have a lot of good football gear but I might stop shopping there because they are quite pretentious for being a consignment shop with overpriced used clothing and I don’t like that she got irritated with me.

That is all so far for today. I have to go school the children now.

We’ve been at the football field all day long. Two kids on two different teams playing 3 hours apart means our Saturdays are pretty much full for the next couple months.

image

Heat indexes in our area have been reaching 115 lately.  Hot.

Florida.

Next year 2 more of our boys would like to play and because of their age spreads it will be 4 kids on 4 different teams so Rabbit and I are saving our money so we can buy a clone of one of us.
We’re still arguing about who gets to be cloned.

Half time is over so I’m going to go watch Gabe play.

That Fancy Foosball

I think there is not much of anything cuter than a bunch of little boys wearing football uniforms.

image

Since rabbit is finished going to sea and we are at last finished moving every few years he has been excited to finally be able to do more guy stuff with all these boys we’ve got around here.  I’m a little surprised about how a feeling of permanence has changed our desire to get the kids involved in extracurricular activities.

Two of the boys have wanted to play football for so long and I’ve always kind of been put off by the idea.  Rabbit was a little more accepting of the thought, however, and now we’re a little wrapped up in cleats and pads and helmets for the season.  And socks and mouth guards and gloves…   I never knew how much gear was needed for this sport.
And as busy as this has made us lately, I am not regretting it.

image

Not only are Gabe and Matthew living a dream, but practices are hard work and watching my boys get out on that field and bust their behinds and not complain at all when they’re exhausted and sweaty because it’s 100 degrees outside…

image

And the amount of character growth I’ve seen in Gabe in just the last month has been somewhat unexpected.

image

Their first real game is this coming Saturday.  I’m sad that Kait will not be there to take more pictures for me – she has to work – but I’m more than happy with these that she took of Matthew’s scrimmage last weekend.

image

I have found that there is not a whole lot of humor in football so I’m sorry to say that sporty updates are not likely to be very funny.
Also, they’ll likely be done from my phone most of the time so you should probably expect some occasional auto correct issues.

Hopefully future pictures won’t be too awful.

Go Pace Patriots!

I know selfies are right out if you’re not sixteen but I think maybe it doesn’t count if there is a large group of people standing behind you.

image

This is pretty much the best selfie ever taken.
That’s my sister-in-law, Cassie, in the middle.  I forgot to get pictures when my other sister-in-law and niece were visiting last month and I sorely regret it so I was sure not to make that mistake again.

It was a super great visit except for the sharks and flesh eating amebas threatening our very existence.  We almost died a bunch of times probably. And then there was the stingy jelly fish in the way when Kait tried to go swimming.

Also, stingray.

I may never go in the water again, people.

But isn’t this place beautiful?

image

I get to live here.
Well, not actually here, here.  But close.

Maybe here, here someday when we’re rich.

It could happen.

Evidence

Here’s a tip for all my toddler readers out there: If you’re going to get into something white and powdery that you shouldn’t be getting into, you might want to be careful to not leave a perfect hand print in your wake.

I never did figure out what Lucy had been playing in.

She’s sneaky, that one.

There has never been a better way to watch a movie.

I saw a card board box. Sam saw the best theater seating ever.

Who needs television when you have siblings

They have been just sitting here like this for the longest time.

image

And Maggie is just as fascinated by them as they are by her.

Living dangerously

No tables.
No chairs.
No where to set my coffee.

Moving reveals my wild side.

I can’t believe I ever let them out of my site

This is what happens when I let the kids take a trip to Walmart by themselves without me.

image

They try on things and then text me pictures of themselves in funny hats or sunglasses or masks that they simply MUST HAVE.

Kids these days.

But aren’t they just so adorable?

Rabbit took me to dinner.

We hadn’t been out together in more than 4 months because new baby and all so I mentioned last night that we should probably go eat giant burgers together sometime soon and Rabbit suggested tomorrow night which turned out to be tonight after last night was over. Just trust me that it makes sense.

He took me to Poe’s Tavern, which is all Edgar Allen Poe-y.  It was a very interesting place and the food was delicious and we got this picture which is not awesome but only marginally okay.

image

Also, Rabbit knew pretty much everybody there which is not all that unusual lately.   Apparently he’s all popular and likable.

Kait was watching Maggie so we couldn’t be out super long but even still it was a good fun time and on the way home I learned that November Rain is like 2 hours long and Ozzy Osborn sings a song called Crazy Train which sounds like the title of a book about my family.

I learn something new every day I guess.
