Escape Plan Challenge – Court Jester
Any of you regular readers know that I love Kimandjason.com. If you aren’t a regular reader and haven’t read my posts on the subject I suggest you go here to learn who and what Kim & Jason are all about. They’ll teach you how to stay young, have fun, and live with less stress.
The couple does a weekly challenge to help us adults in our endeavours to stay childlike. This weeks challenge was to pull a practical joke on somebody.
Let me tell you what happened.
My husband is a self proclaimed child. He is always doing silly things and although he drives me crazy it is one of the things I love about him. My kids think he is pretty fun, too.
Anyway, our 7 year old, Gabe, has taken after his father when it comes to the silliness factor. Gabe is a goober – always giggling, always doing something funny. Yesterday, after he heard Ryan and me laughing about Kim & Jason’s latest challenge on Wednesday, Gabe decided to pull a practical joke of his own.
Ryan was grilling and asked Gabe to run in and get him a glass of water to drink. Gabe did this with a smile and brought Ryan out his glass of ice water. He took a big gulp thinking it was just plain ice water – but then he tasted it.
Turning to Gabe he asked “What did you put in this water, son?”
A giggling Gabe answered, “the doggy No-Chew spray”.
Needless to say Gabe got a stern talking to about the dangers of putting chemicals and such in peoples drinks. No chew spray is fairly harmless but it isn’t meant for consumption. In Gabe’s mind he thought if it wasn’t harmful for Kait’s little dog to get in his mouth it wouldn’t be harmful for his big daddy to drink some. Logical thinking but still not a good idea.
Then, later at the dinner table we commended him for his efforts and all had a good laugh at the prank Gabe pulled on his dad after the warning was given out to all our children about the dangers of such a prank.
I told Ryan it was his own fault – they get this stuff from him.
