Gettin’er done
This is what the boys got done on Tuesday. From the angle of the picture the pile looks smaller but it was really pretty big. We were holding our breath hoping it would get picked up with the Wednesday recycling. And it did.
By the way, did I mention that we don’t have to pay for trash services here? The city covers it.

While Ryan and I were at the store yesterday the kids, all 7 of ’em (okay, I can’t say for certain that Jesse actually did much), worked hard and got this done – with Kait as the ring leader. We have 1 regular and 1 toddler picnic table and the house came with a picnic table. So the kids busily raked and cleared for a couple of hours and created a picnic area for us. Ryan and I had planned to spend a couple hundred on pea gravel or similar playground material for the area but after the kids were done we were quite pleased with the leaf-less ground.
I can’t believe how soft the ground is. Once the leaves, twigs, and weeds were pulled up it felt so good on my bare feet. We’re just going to border off the area and leave it. Instead of paying for the ground cover we’re going to put that money into stringing up some cheesy lights to make it more entertain-ready.

That means all you peeps will have to come for a visit! You can’t let all my kids’ hard work go to waste, now.
I smell bacon.
Time to get off the computer.

That picnic area looks awesome. There also looks to be plenty of room for tents outside in the back yard for camping. Now you just need a fire pit area and some marshmallows.
Lauren, it does look awesome. Thanks!
We’ve got the marshmallows and Ryan has been searching for a cheap, used, portable firepit. So, bring your tent and come on then!
Havent replied in awhile. Moving well I hate it. FL is trying to kill me with the humidity. SO much differnt from CA. But good thing is we are closer to a military base and a publix which I just love.
The kids did fantastic on the back yard, it looks wonderful and VERY huge!! Congrats on the new baby to be. How far along are you now? Are you still homeschooling? We have been blessed to put Savannah in Preschool this year and the state pays for it.
We have a wonderful church to attend that works for the whole family. I am so excited to see what God has planned for us and our new church family.
Hey Lisa! Glad to hear you’re move was successful. Sorry to hear that Florida is trying to kill you. We actually love Florida so much we’re planning on retiring here. But then again, I grew up on the South Carolina coast so I’m used to the weather.
I’m about 16 weeks now, and glad to be past that first trimester sickness.
Yes, we are still homeschooling, with our oldest graduating in the Spring.
Glad you found a good church! That can be such a pain with moving all the time. We’ve yet to try one. The first two weeks living here proved to be very side-tracking for us. But things seem to be more normal now and we have already found a church to try on Sunday that looks like it might be a good fit.
We’re in the Jacksonville area. I think you’re still a few hours away from us but I can’t remember.
