I have an adult child now. It’s cool. Also, weird.
Kait turned 18 a few weeks ago but we all had the flu so we didn’t celebrate her birthday until everybody was well again. We try to do unusual birthdays but don’t normally do an official party. However, this was Kait’s 18th so we threw together a surprise party for her once our family and all of her friend’s were over the flu. Rabbit took Kait to get pizza and we decorated and put together a pretty cool Fear Factor style party where Kait had to do gross things. This was easy to do with Kait because she thinks everything is gross.
The best part wasn’t really gross though, but funny. We gave all of her friends a plate of whipped cream and told Kait that her clue to where her gift was could be found under one of the cream pies. She had to try to find which plate had the clue by picking one to be smashed into her face. Once she found the clue, the pie smashing would be over. What we didn’t tell her, however, was that we were lying about there being a clue, and all of her friends got to throw a cream pie in her face. It was pretty awesome.
Kait was a pretty great sport about the whole thing, as usual. She’s a really awesome kid adult. (EEK!)
