We are 4 days into our trip from WA state to Florida. I am finding it a tad bit interesting that we haven’t left our house yet.
That’s right. We are still here sitting in an empty house. Waiting.
On Thursday we were a few hours from leaving town. Ryan had a few loose ends to tie up and then we were having dinner with friends just before driving out. Everything seemed to go wrong that morning but we were just happy to be ready to be on our way.
Then our transmission ate itself. We were NOT happy about this. Still, I was determined to make the best of it so while Ryan was getting the car diagnosed I decided to do some spot touch ups in the living room with a gallon of paint we found in the garage. I had just about finished all the touch ups when I looked over the room and noticed that the paint was not drying the correct color. Upon further inspection of the paint can I realized that I had just painted my walls with a similar color I had used in the bedroom. Similar, but not the same. So, now my living room walls have spots all over them.
Also, I had freshly vacuumed and shampooed my carpets on Wednesday. They looked surprisingly good and I was pleased. Sam (13 mo), however, thought they needed a bit of darkening and spilled my 20 oz coffee all over them.
Our sweet realtor, bless her heart, delivered us some news, failed to mention a few important things we could have benefited from, and just overall came over at a bad time. I feel for her because, although I was nice to her, I am sure it was obvious that I was not having a good day.
Then we found out that the repair on the car could cost us up to $2500. 3 years ago we had a rear end rebuild the day we were leaving RI to move here and it cost us $2500 and caused us to leave 5 days late.
Talk about deja vu.
So, now it is Monday and we are still waiting on our car to be finished. It may be done today but tomorrow is more likely.
Grrr.
We rest in knowing that God’s plans for us are better than our own. Who knows what major disaster He has just averted us from.
