Review A Freebie – Everyday Minerals Makeup
I have received two different types of mineral makeup recently for very cheap. One type, the brand I am reviewing today, is called Everyday Minerals and the samples cost me $3.15 for shipping. They are mine to keep and I don’t have to return them. I am not going to dive into the organics of this makeup, just my personal experience and opinion of the purchase and use of this brand.
About the Everyday Minerals:
What I received for my $3.15 shipping cost was 5ml each of:
3 Foundations
1 Blush/Face Colors
1 Concealers
For the cost of shipping I received a small package of about $12.50 (not including shipping) worth of powder mineral makeup. While the 5 samples jars were tiny I have been pleasantly surprised that after about 1 1/2 weeks of use it doesn’t appear that I have even made a dent in the sample jars.
There were no directions in the package. I had been hoping for a pointers pamphlet of some sort but didn’t get one. After browsing their website I still couldn’t find any makeup application tips. I have used makeup before so this wasn’t any sort of tragedy – it just would have been helpful.
Getting the makeup to come out of the 3 little holds wasn’t easy. I had to tap it upside down with the cap on but couldn’t really get enough that way without wasting a bunch because as soon as I opened the cap it seemed that a lot of it would be stuck in the cap and fall out. So, I resorted to tapping it out on another hard surface and going from there. This was easy and allowed me to only tap out the amount I needed with much less waste. I am assuming that the larger containers are easier to work with.

The first photo is me without any makeup. The second photo is me with the
Everyday Mineral makeup on. I am 33 with fairly normal skin – just a few drier areas and a little more oily on the sides of my nose. These pictures were taken in natural light outside and I tried my best not to squint. I am 26 weeks and very tired. The makeup really helped perk my tired face up.
Application is easy, the foundation feels light and goes on smooth. What I really like about the Everyday Minerals foundation is that I don’t look or feel like I am wearing a bunch of makeup with it on. It smooths out my complexion nicely and gives my face an even look without the ‘makeup mask’ feel. I have some mildly dry areas on my face and this makeup didn’t really help with that. I need to remember to moisturize certain areas of my face before I apply this makeup so that it doesn’t cause my dryer areas to stand out.
The concealer works great for under eye darkness and I also use it to lighten up the top of my eye lids up by my eyebrows. It gives my eyes a lift that almost fools me into thinking that I am not really all that tired.
The blush is very subtle and not overly powerful like many brands. I don’t feel like a clown wearing it. It makes a perfect light eye shadow, too.
Since my order I haven’t been bombarded with emails. The company appears to be very respectful of my inbox.
A rundown of my review -
Pros:
- fast shipping
- a large variety of colors and shades to choose from
- samples last longer than you would think
- weightless application
- concealer really conceals
- gives my face a ‘not that tired’ look
- is not over powerful – very natural looking
- apparently considerate company
- prices are considerably cheaper than that of other popular specialty mineral makeups
Cons:
- mildly drying, although not as bad as the typical store bought makeup
- no tips or directions were included in my package or on the website
- ordering was slightly confusing at first
- makeup was difficult to extract directly from that container
Overall I would give Everyday Minerals a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Good makeup at a price that is extremely less expensive than other mineral makeups. I typically don’t pay anything for makeup but may find myself purchasing Everyday Minerals in the future if the sale was an exceptional one. I would love to try a sample of their lip gloss.
