sam. also known as sham. also known as second samuel.
This is Sam. He’s 4. Sam at 4 pretty much translates directly into awesome.

He spends time like this with Lucy every single day. He holds her hand, says hi to her a lot, and pretty much gets in her face and makes her crazy. She’s only 4 months old and they’re already fighting. It’s cute. But only when I’ve already had my coffee.
Sam has finally started saying the S sound properly and that makes me terribly sad. For so much of his life I called him my little Sean Connery because all his S sounds came out SH.
Sham.
Aweshome.
And when he said the word sit… Well, you can probably see where I’m going with this.
It was definitely not as bad as that short period of time when Kait was 2 and her OR sound came out more like UH. Think cute little blond pigtailed toddler at Pizza Hut during the lunch hour rush and she really, really wants to eat her pizza with a fork and is letting everybody know loudly that I WANT FORK! only she’s not saying fork because she can’t say the OR sound. Yeah.
And that is how I can justify embarrassing my kids in Walmart. It’s payback time.
P.S. I forgot to tell you why he is sometimes called Second Samuel. His name is Samuel David and our good friends have a son named the same. So when we’re together we call Sam Second Samuel because he’s the younger of the two.
