Do you ever find yourself regretting a decision you made in the parenting arena?
I am not talking about anything huge, but little, everyday decisions. Like, what movie to let them watch when everybody is sick.

I did that – made that mistake, that is.

I remembered watching a movie a long, long time ago. It was cute, funny, and innocent – so I thought.
I guess I remembered ‘Dennis The Menace’ wrong.

Now, my 5 year old has called my husband Hot Lips and my 8 year old has been heard saying ‘this tastes like paint’ at the dinner table. Baby Rump Kisser has been thrown out there a few times, as well.

Hmmm.

We are usually so much more careful about what our kids watch. I guess I let the sick, tired, exaustedness of it all effect my better judgement.
In truth, everything they have said has been in innocent, playful fun and it doesn’t really bother us as long as it stays that way. Not only that, but it has gotten a few muffled laughs out of my husband and myself. Still, I don’t want my 5 year old to call our pastor hot lips. Something he is prone to do because his (my 5 year olds, not our pastors) idea of play is goofy name calling. He gets this from his father.

I did remember something negative in the movie and skipped that part before it got too far. Next time I will preview the entire movie first. I should know better than to trust my memory.

I guess I forgot that my memory rarely serves me well in this area.
