Such Delicious Goodness Should Be Illegal

We went to Walmart tonight. I didn’t have coupons but we needed printer ink and since my cartridge was damaged during the last refill we had to buy a new cartridge. Yes, it hurt.
Anyway, as we walked through the store I noticed the freezer end cap had a bunch of Edy’s ice cream. No biggy. I like ice cream but I wasn’t about to buy any tonight – especially without a coupon.
I was almost past it. I came so close to getting by the little freezer but that little Samoas cookie on one of the ice cream tubs caught my eye. I had never seen such a thing before. Some genius of a saint had come up with the idea to put Samoas cookies in ice cream. I love Samoas cookies and cannot wait each year for the little girls in green to come ring my doorbell. One year I bought 10 boxes and froze them. They are my absolute favorite treat ever.
Anyway, I couldn’t pass it up. I looked at my husband and sniffled dramatically – like a child throwing a silent tantrum. He opened the freezer and picked one up. I was giddy!
Tonight after dinner I pulled it out of the freezer, peeled back the lid and took a taste. I am usually smart enough to wait to do this until after the natives go to bed, I don’t much like to share, but…
My poor children watched me take bite after blissful bite.
Big eyes wide, mouths hanging open with drool coming out they stood there and stared at me. Unblinking, Matthew closed his mouth, swallowed and asked, “Can we have some, mom?” We can’t tell whether he is really brave or just plain crazy.
I pretended like I didn’t hear them.
In the end I gave them each a bite. I was so kind as to go through the trouble to make sure there was a piece of cookie on each spoonful. Yeah, I’m generous like that.
All I can say is yum. YUM. I cannot believe this stuff is only available between January and April. That is such a crummy thing for Edy’s to do. I’d boycott them if it weren’t for the fact that they appear to hold the corner on Girl Scout Cookie ice cream.
Okay, I wouldn’t take it as far as a boycott.
Maybe a lawsuit…
On a different yet similar note -
I just turned around to check on Sam (20 months) who is sitting at the table right behind me. He had a spoon and an open container of sour cream. He also had sour cream all over him. He held up the spoon and smiled when he saw me looking at him and delightfully proclaimed, “Ice cream!”

That is way too funny. I guess its a good thing I have GD and can’t eat all the ice cream I could stuff in my mouth, but I can dream bout it tho.
I love chocolate and peanut butter. I can not pass up anything that has that combo in it. I’m having so much fun visiting the blogs from Bloggy Carnival, now that I have time to read and comment.
