At least I have something to blog about.

You know how a bathroom can get this smell that is pretty close to unbearable?  Well, maybe you don’t, but I have 6 boys and their bathroom had the scent of stank this morning.  It was time to do a down and dirty cleaning.  I got to work, getting hair and yuck out of the corners, wiping dirt smudges off the walls and doors, cleaning in and around the toilet, and cleaning poop out of the trash can.

Yes.  There was a nice steamer in the kids bathroom trash can. Don’t ask me how it got in there.  I don’t even want to know.  My imagination is trying to run wild with this.  STOP IT PLEASE!

Life with 6 boys means there is always something to blog about.

Ben and his pajama top(s)

Being 2 Ben is big into ‘doing it himself’ in the last few months and has decided recently that his favorite outfit is a pajama top. Any pajama top will do but it has to be a pajama top.

That is all. No pants, no underwear, just a pajama top and a pair of boots on occassion. I like to put pants on him, he looks so cute when he is dressed but in less than an hour I will be asking him “Where did your pants go?” He almost always replies, “They’re dirty, I put them in the hamper”. Further inspection reveals a perfectly clean pair of pants in the hamper.
I know I could get him to keep his pants on if I was really consistent about it but I am just not seeing it as being a high priority in my endless list of discipline needing offenses. I am more worried about him dropping his toys and sometimes my jewelry down the heater vents. Or finding him climbing up in the kitchen cupboard trying to reach who knows what. Or coloring on himself with sharpie (some of you know this story – innocent enough but not quite appropriate for this Christian blog).
Ben is by far my most challenging child. And to think, when I was pregnant with him I prayed for twins. HA – God definetely knew.
He just knew.

Me or Kermit – you decide

Matthew(4) loves to draw and did a portrait of me a few days ago. It was sitting on the table and my husband said “pretty good frog drawing”. He laughed when I said “It’s not a frog, it’s ME”.
I TOTALLY LOVE having kids.
So, what do ya think? Does it look anything like me at all or does it look like Kermit? Or, heaven forbid, both? At least my arms aren’t sticking out of my head.

Contemplating A Spider

I am actually considering adding a large, hairy, 8 legged creature to our family pet population. I don’t know what is wrong with me. Everything inside me says “BAD IDEA” but still I am giving into thoughts of allowing Joe to purchase a Tarantula. He has everything set up for it in his bug habitat we allowed him to create in a large aquarium in his room. All he needs now is the creepy crawly.

Am I delerious? Are my children slipping some kind of medication into my coffee when I am not looking? Isn’t it bad enough that they are harvesting bugs to feed their Praying Mantis which lives IN MY HOUSE?
I feel like I am taking CRAZY PILLS!
