The Night Writer
I always sit down to write a post and end up writing something totally different. This time is no different.
I was going to write about how Ben is always dirty. He is the one kid who you could tell to go take a bath and somehow he comes out with more dirt on him.
How does this happen, by the way?
But, instead, I am writing about how I don’t ever write what I plan to write. Sometimes I don’t because I feel it comes across too harsh. Sometimes it sounds dumb so I delete it. Most of the time, however, I just can’t get my thoughts down well enough for them to make sense on paper – or on my computer screen. Whichever, I usually start over again and write something completely different than what I originally intended.
I find myself coming up with great writing topics at night – usually while reading my Bible – and as I am falling asleep I am running an entire post through my head. However, when I get up in the morning and try to tap out the post it doesn’t sound quite as thrilling as it did the night before.
I heard a lady say once that she always got up and wrote when things like that happened to her. She said she’d be up for hours in the middle of the night writing – and doing it well.
I’m not sure my husband would be up for me blogging at 2 in the morning. I’m not sure my kids would benefit from that the next day, either.
Just so y’all know -
I am an extremely talented writer!
But only late at night.
When I don’t write because I need to sleep.

When I kept up with my blog, I had the same problem. What's really frustrating is that for me, there is no moderation. Either I'm all in or I'm all out. Either I'm always writing to my blog and constantly focusing on it, or I can't be bothered to even remember I *have* a blog! I admire your ability to keep things in focus and use discretion. I happen to enjoy your writing and am so thankful that you share your gifts!

My best thoughts are always the one's that run through my head at the end of the day, when I should be sleeping. If I was smart I would write more of them down. I usually keep a pen a paper on my bed side to jot those things down I MUST remeber. Ha I usually think I am pretty witty in the middle of the night only to find in the am, it was newborn sleep deprived drivel…
I am the same way. I think it is that those wonderful posts in our head are secrets God meant only for us.

I like that thought! ~:O)

I wish I had the ability to really organize my blog time but I am on and off the computer all day. I usually blog when I am holding the baby and have no choice but to sit for a while.
I guess you can say I'm forced into moderation by having so many kids, too.

I usually have a pen and paper by my bedside, too, but never remember to use them. I think that's a great idea!
