They satisfied their urge for crunch.
We were visiting friends over the weekend and Ryan broke out the salt n vinegar crickets.
And I got the whole thing on video.
I barely had ‘record’ pushed before the first taster, Joe, tossed his cricket into his mouth, so it is kind of an abrupt beginning. Sorry about that.
Nobody tossed an enormous amount of money at me, so obviously I wasn’t eating any insects. But my husband did, tasting it and commenting on the flavor and texture like it was a fine wine.

I told you my family was weird. It turns out that much of my friend’s family is too.
Nice to know I’m not the only mom of a bunch of weirdies.

Ewwwww…the crunch sound still grosses me out! Did you hear how quick Sam and I were to say no when it was offered to us?
Kindly, God was merciful enough to block the crunch sound from my ears. Don’t know if this pregnant lady could have handled that.
I’m with you and Sam. No cricket eating for me!
I also noticed that Rob didn’t try one…
Love it. The family that eats crickets together stays together! :^) I love to read (watch)the fun things your family does. :^) I do not thing any amount of money in the world would get me to eat one either.
Haha, Brandy. That’s funny, the family who eats crickets together stays together.
Our family does do some intersting things. We try to keep it fun so the kids will want to come back and visit when they are all grown and married.
Though bonding over crickets does seem a bit extreme.
Yes. I did eat a cricket. No. It did not taste terrible. Yes. The texture was weird. No. I did not spit it out though I did walk into the grass right afterward.
Tasted like a sunflower seed shell to me.
Yes. It was epic.
I’m not surprised. I figured you would be one of the first to taste the cricket. You have no fear.
