Me: Sam, now that you’re 4 it’s time to start thinking about what you want to do when you’re big.  Like, what do you want to do as a job? How are you going to support your family?

Sam: I want to fly helicopters. And airplanes. And jets with no seats in the back and the back is filled with ice cream.

Me: That sounds like a lot of ice cream, little man. Where are you going to get it from?

Sam: I’m going to fly to the store then an ice cream lady will bring all of the ice cream out and put it in the back of my jet.  Then I will fly back here.

Me: I’ve never seen jets land at the grocery store before.  I don’t know how that would work.

Sam (excited in the way only Sam can be): I see jets land at the grocery store all the time! And then they get all the ice cream. And corn dogs too. I love corn dogs. And ice cream. I love corn dogs and ice cream yeah.

You’d have had to be around Sam a significant amount to know what his kind of excitement looks like.  It’s very unique.

The other day he came out of his room wearing a baseball cap with a pair of sunglasses resting on it.  He was saying, Mom, Mom trying to get my attention.  Then he reached up to feel for the sunglasses and whispered awesome to himself, then continued to say Mom, Mom again.

I wish I could have gotten it on video because it was so Sam and I know my writing it out here on the blog in no way does the moment justice.

The kid is such a character.
