Where Ben needed a box so he wouldn’t lose his shoes and jacket
So this is pretty much how the average conversation with my seven year old goes.
Me: Ben, where did you get that box?
Ben: What box?
Me: That box you’re holding. The one you’ve been carrying around with you for 3 days.
Ben: What? Oh yeah. Wait… what?
Me: The box, Ben. Where did you get the box?
Ben: Oh…! Harleigh’s dad gave it to me because I needed a box.
Me: You needed that box?
Ben: Yes. I keep my jacket and shoes in it so I will always have them and I won’t lose them.
Me: Why don’t you just keep them in the coat closet like everybody else?
Ben: Well… I just… [sigh]
Me: Okay. It’s fine. You can keep your shoes and jacket in the box. For now.
I live with crazy people, ya’ll. Short, crazy people.

Wesley and I just had a great laugh at this post. Thank you.
I like what this boy’s thinking. I mean, how can you forget where your jacket and shoes are if you always carry them around in a box? Flawless logic.
