This is a mommy blog and I am a mommy blogger and I am unashamed of this fact.  However, this isn’t your typical mommy blog and I am not your typical mommy blogger. I don’t think.

We are the Culbertson family but we’re mostly known as that one family with all the kids.

Or that one family with the giant white van in the driveway that has been mistaken for a duty van.  When we lived on base I was stopped by fresh-outta-boot camp Navy guys needing a ride to the ships. True story.

We’ve also been referred to as that one family with all the boys.
And that one family that homeschools.
And that one family that’s crazy.

So I guess we’re pretty much known as that one family.

My husband and I originally planned to have 3 or 4 kids but sometimes things just don’t go as planned so now we have 10.  Our children’s ages are 22, 19, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 3 and the baby girl is 17 months old.   6 of them are boys. 4 are girls.

Yes, they are all mine.
Yes, I actually birthed them all (But so what if I didn’t?).
Yes, I physically gave birth to all of them (Again – why would somebody ask this in front of my children? What if one was adopted? Think before you speak).
Yes, I know how this happens.
No, we’re not Mormon.
No, we’re not Catholic.
No, we’re not Muslim.
Yes, we’ve been asked that before.
You want to ask me if we’re done yet, don’t you?  Well, we’d love to adopt so hopefully not.

My husband is a helicopter pilot in the Navy. His callsign is Rabbit.  Not quite sure why they gave him that one.
I don’t know much about what he does except that all too often it doesn’t involve flying at all. Apparently flying helicopters requires a lot of paperwork. And beer.

My name is Mel and I am mama to 10 and this is the blog that explains that.
