So now our stove burner won’t turn off for Pete’s sake.  It would appear that whatever once maybe possessed our over the range microwave may or may not have simply dropped itself into the one very stubborn stove burner.

  1. I had to pull out the range and unplug the thing
  2. Call maintenance and speak to a guy who talks way too fast and then gets annoyed when you don’t understand him.
  3. I had to clean the floor behind the range, and wipe up the sides of the range and the sides of the cabinets that abut the range.
  4. Figure out how to clean those impossible to clean dumb stove plates before maintenance gets here because they are a little embarrassing and will probably be to blame for the range malfunction somehow.

If you have followed any of our previous housing fun you might already be aware that we tend to have mostly very odd issues in the houses we rent.  In the last house our kitchen sink fell out, among numerous other things that happened that same week.  And our garage door ate itself.
Twice.
And some other things like leaks and floods and washer machines that don’t know when to stop washing your clothes.  And then there is our most recent issue here in base housing was the microwave turning on by itself, which took a year and a half to get fixed if you can believe it. And believing it should be easy because this is the government, people.

So I’ll be waiting on maintenance to come fix our range and until then I guess we’ll be using our newly exorcised microwave for all our cooking which might be difficult since we have a family of 11 and do most of our cooking from scratch.

I want to ask what can possibly happen next but I’m too afraid I’ll find out so I think I’ll just keep that question to myself for now and hope that the range will actually be fixed the first time our maintenance guy repairs it.  Or that we just get a whole new range, as if that would ever happen.
