For Christmas Kait got the kids a Zelda Yahtzee.  Rabbit sat down and played it with the kids yesterday and there was a lot of laughing and whatnot and Jesse didn’t win so there was a little bit of a morale boost among the older kids.

Surprisingly, they take getting beat by a 7 year old pretty well.

The set came with a treasure box for rolling the dice which was a really cool idea but has no practical application at all.  They ended up going with a regular plastic cup and used the treasure box as an argument starter.  Everybody wants to hold Link’s treasure box.

As I’m writing this they are beginning another game because it’s freaking cold outside the last few days.  We had an 80 degree Christmas holiday but the warm weather came with weeks of rain so there wasn’t much outside time. Then suddenly two days ago the temperature plummeted to highs in the 50’s and we’re all getting cabin fever.

Stop laughing at us.  It’s 48 degrees outside right now and we live in Florida and we don’t have a ton of winter clothes.  I had to go buy Matthew tennis shoes yesterday because he grew out of all of his shoes over a month ago but it was so warm he wore flip flops and without complaint.

Here’s to hoping this frigid weather doesn’t stick around for long.  My digits are going to fall off.
